Ingredients
- 2 cans (15 oz each) chickpeas, drained and rinsed
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 2 green chilies, finely chopped
- 2 large tomatoes, pureed
- 2 tsp cumin seeds
- 2 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1 tsp amchur (dried mango powder)
- Salt to taste
- 2 tbsp fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
Instructions
- Heat oil in a large pan. Add cumin seeds and let them sizzle.
- Add onions and sauté until golden brown.
- Add ginger-garlic paste and green chilies. Cook for 2 minutes.
- Add tomato puree and all the spices. Cook for 5-7 minutes until oil separates.
- Add chickpeas and 1 cup of water. Simmer for 15-20 minutes.
- Add amchur, lemon juice, and cilantro. Cook for another 2 minutes.
- Serve hot with rice or naan.
