Ingredients
Ingredients for Chilli Fish: For marination:
- 500g boneless fish fillets (like basa or tilapia), cut into cubes
- 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1/2 tsp black pepper powder
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 egg white
- 3 tbsp cornflour
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- Salt to taste
For the sauce:
- 2 tbsp oil
- 2 green chilies, slit
- 1 onion, cut into petals
- 1 bell pepper, cubed
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp vinegar
- 2 tbsp tomato ketchup
- 1 tbsp green chili sauce
- 1 tsp sugar
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 cup water mixed with 1 tsp cornflour
Yogurt Mint Sauce:
- 1 cup Greek yogurt
- 1/4 cup fresh mint leaves, finely chopped
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Marinate fish with all marination ingredients for 30 minutes.
- Deep fry marinated fish until golden. Set aside.
- In a wok, heat oil and stir-fry green chilies, onion, bell pepper, and garlic.
- Add soy sauce, vinegar, ketchup, chili sauce, sugar, and salt.
- Add fried fish and toss.
- Pour in cornflour slurry and cook until sauce thickens.
- Garnish with spring onions and serve hot.
Yogurt Mint Sauce:
- Mix all ingredients in a bowl.
- Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.
